Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MofTab browser extension and the website moftab.com, provided by the Moftly studio ("Moftly", "we", "us"). By installing or using the extension, or by using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

3. Services

MofTab is a browser extension that replaces your new-tab page with a calm clock, wallpapers, and a set of quiet, optional widgets — a calendar, weather, world clocks, quick links, a GitHub view, a search bar, and native meeting and pull-request notifications. Each one is off until you switch it on. The extension is available for Chromium-based browsers (such as Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Arc) and for Firefox, and it is free to use.

The website moftab.com presents the extension, hosts the wallpaper gallery, and carries these legal pages. Both the extension and the website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind — express or implied — except those that cannot be excluded under applicable law. In particular, MofTab is a tool for displaying your own information, and you remain responsible for the accounts and content you connect to it.

4. Free Forever Scope

The extension is free to use today, and its current features are what we call Free Forever. Moftly may later introduce an optional paid tier ("MofTab Pro") that adds power features for power users.

If it does, one rule holds: features released as free stay free.Pro would add capability — it would never take away, restrict, or paywall something that already shipped as a free feature. We make no promises here about Pro's price, timing, or specific features; this section is only a commitment about what "free" means.

5. Availability

We do not guarantee that MofTab or moftab.com will be available continuously or without interruption. Downtime may occur for maintenance, updates, technical issues beyond our reasonable control, or the force-majeure events in Section 12. We are not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability.

6. Third-Party Services

The optional integrations you can switch on — Google Calendar, Outlook, GitHub, and the weather services (Open-Meteo and BigDataCloud) — are operated by those third parties and governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours. Connecting one is your agreement with that provider, on the legal basis described in the Privacy Policy.

MofTab does not control these services and cannot guarantee their availability. An integration may be limited, suspended, or removed if a provider changes its policies, pricing, or API, or withdraws access. This has happened before and may happen again; where it does, we will adapt or retire the affected feature, and Section 4 still applies to everything that remains.

7. Acceptable Use

Moftly grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use MofTab for your own personal or internal business purposes. Within that licence, you agree not to:

• redistribute, resell, sublicense, or rent the extension or its assets;
• use it for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
• interfere with, attack, or attempt to disrupt the extension, the website, or the token-exchange infrastructure;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or upload or transmit malicious code.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it. In the European Union, this includes the limited right to decompile for interoperability under the Software Directive (2009/24/EC); these Terms do not restrict that right.

8. Intellectual Property

The Moftly and MofTab names and marks, the design, the code, and the curated wallpapers that ship with the extension are the property of Moftly or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from them without written permission.

The bundled wallpapers are provided for use within the extension. They may not be extracted, redistributed, or resold as stock imagery or on their own.

9. User-Submitted Content

When you upload your own image as a custom wallpaper, it remains entirely yours. It is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device, is never uploaded to any Moftly server, and we never see it. We claim no ownership, licence, or rights over it whatsoever.

You are responsible for having the right to use any image you set as your wallpaper.

10. Modifications

Moftly may modify, add, or discontinue features of MofTab or the website at any time, subject to the Free Forever commitment in Section 4. Material changes will be reflected on moftab.com.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Moftly is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of MofTab, and its total liability for the free service is limited to the amount you paid for it — which is zero.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including the mandatory statutory rights of consumers in the European Union. Those rights are unaffected by anything written here.

12. Force Majeure

Moftly is not responsible for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including acts of nature, internet or telecommunications outages, failures of hosting or third-party providers, government action, cyber-attacks, or public health emergencies.

13. Termination

You may stop using MofTab at any time by uninstalling the extension; doing so removes its data from your device. We may suspend or end access to the service for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, or where required by law. The sections on intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and applicable European Union law. Any dispute should first be raised with us directly, in good faith; we will try to resolve it with you before anything else.

If it cannot be resolved, it is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of [INSERT JURISDICTION], Romania, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence.

15. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. The unenforceable part is treated as removed, and everything else continues to apply.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Moftly regarding MofTab, and replace any earlier understanding on the same subject.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of MofTab after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
